Building a sand dam could provide local water source to up to 1,500 people.They provide clean water for Domestic & agricultural uses.
They are simple ,low cost maintenance and harvest rain water & recharge underground water.
They are great solution to water scarcity issues in arid and dry land Environment.
They generate wider ecology due to increased water tables that can improve soils & sorrounding riparian zones.

Communities here suffer allot due to water scarcity during dry season. All rivers here are seasonal and during dry season they dry up and underground water levels goes down.Many kilometers from were people live have few deep wells within the seasonal rivers were people, domestic animals and wild animals gets water to sustain life.
